4 Tools I couldn’t run my business without

Here are the 4 Tools I couldn’t run my business without! I’ve learned a lot in the past 3 years of starting my business. I have curated these over the years and they have always been consistent in my everyday use.

  1. Honeybook
  2. Google Calendar
  3. Adobe
  4. Later.com

1. Honeybook

Honeybook is the business tool I use the most. I’ve been using Honeybook for approximately two years. Honeybook is a client management solution that allows me to customize a workspace for each of my clients. From there, I can send brochures, contracts, bills, and surveys to ensure that all of my brides and grooms have access to all they need to know about their wedding photography experience. Honeybook also allows you to create your own pipeline so you can get a fast overview and see where each customer is in the process. My own pipeline consists of over fifteen steps! This is 100% my top tool I couldn’t run my business without.

Honeybook’s task management feature, on the other hand, is by far my favorite feature. When I take on a new client, I know there are certain duties I want to do during my time with them. I used Honeybook to create a process that timings each project so that I know what things to complete midway through our collaboration to two weeks away. These chores serve as reminders for me, ensuring that each customer receives the information they require and has a positive experience!

2. Google Calendar

My calendar is the center of my universe! Despite the fact that I prefer pen and paper, my Google Calendar is one of my most important professional tools! Google Calendar allows me to keep track of my work, personal life, and content production all in one spot.

My Google Calendar is organized into color-coded groups for easier viewing. It’s been incredibly useful to have a big picture of when my weeks are getting hectic and when I might need to set aside some personal time to avoid being overwhelmed. This is a major tool I couldn’t run my business without.

3. Adobe

Without Adobe, I couldn’t edit. I’m committed to their CC subscription no matter how much it costs since switching between Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is so convenient. I appreciate the frequent updates and integrations they provide. Though I’m intrigued by the new Affinity package, I’ll stick with Adobe because it’s the industry standard and its the program that I know the best.

4. Later.com

Later.com is a service that I use to organize and schedule Instagram posts. I can’t stress the importance of timing your social media updates enough. Batching content may appear to be a time-consuming task, but it will save you a significant amount of time in the long run.

Later.com features a free edition, which, while limited, is a wonderful way to get familiar with the platform.

There are other options, such as Hootsuite or Planoly, but Later.com is the one that works best for me.

I can see my Instagram grid before posting any posts with Later.com. so I can make sure everything looks the way I want it to. It also functions almost as an image library since it allows Se to submit photographs that I am not yet ready to utilize.
